Fiona explains that after 26 very happy years, it is now time for the school to leave Rectory Farm.
Maidford has been a stronghold for Montessori education in South Northants and the surrounding area and has given parents the choice of being able to benefit locally from the Montessori methods.
It is regretted that fewer and fewer Montessori establishments are to be found and there is now more demand for centres providing day-care than traditional nursery schooling.
In the letter of 16th March, Fiona explained she wanted to find a younger person who would be interested in taking the nursery into the next stage. Unfortunately this is not to be. Despite all of her efforts it has not been possible to find a successor who is able to take over the running of the nursery school.
It is with sadness that she must inform everyone that the Maidford Montessori Nursery School must close after Sports Day at the end of this term – Friday 3rd July 2015.
However you will read in Fiona’s latest letter that one couple of existing nursery parents, the Harrisons, have informed her that they are keen to open up “Montessori Bambini” sessions on their farm from September 2015 with the view of possibly opening up a new Montessori Nursery in two years time.
They have asked if anyone is interested, please contact them at [email protected]
Fiona hopes to see everyone at Sports Day where she will have the opportunity of thanking them in person for all of their loyal support and to wish them all well in the future.
