We all went for a lovely walk around the lake today in the autumn sunshine. Julie showed us the pumpkin patch, but all we could find was marrows! Them we walked around the lake, looking at the running water in the rill. Then we all came back for Jonty's birthday celebration. He carried the globe around a candle four times to show how the earth has travelled around the sun four times since he was born - then he blew out the candle and we sang Happy Birthday and gave a big clap!
We had great fun making bread this week! We mixed all the ingredients then added the water and took tuns to stir. Then we each had a piece of dough to squish and squash and stretch and pull until it was ready to make into a roll. Then it went on the tray and into the oven.
The bread tasted so good, all our mummies and daddies wanted some too! The weather behaved impeccably for our last day of term and our Olympic Sports Day. Lots of Mummies and Daddies (and Grannies and Granddads!) came along to support and clap and cheer the children from the Arrival of the Olympic Torch, through all the events and they even took part in their own race at the end. We all had a delicious picnic afterwards and enjoyed the summer while it lasted!
We celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee all this week with lots of yummy cakes and biscuits decorated with red, white and blue icing. We had some healthy snacks too, but they weren't quite so colourful! We decorated our Nursery with lots of flags and bunting too and had our lunch outside when it was warm enough.
